Kelly Bennett is a PhD Candidate at Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario). Her dissertation, conducted under the supervision of Professor Jane Errington, explores the lives and experiences of some of the thousands of Loyalist women who left the (former) American colonies and settled in Upper Canada, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick in the late 1770s and 1780s. Kelly was raised in Toronto, Ontario and Montreal, Quebec. She also teaches history at the undergraduate level at Queen’s University.
