Peter, Jon and Benjamin Cole

Peter, Jon and Benjamin Cole, genealogists, Cole family
New Hampshire

Benjamin Cole is currently teaching in the International Affairs program at the University of New Hampshire while he finishes his PhD in Public Policy at George Mason University. Benjamin, as well as Peter and Jon Cole, have been doing genealogical research on their Loyalist ancestors, John and Sarah Cole, who migrated from New York to New Brunswick as Loyalists in 1783. They have traced land grants in Grand Bay given to John as well as a pension which was paid to Sarah by the province of New Brunswick as a widow of a soldier of the revolutionary war. It appears that John died in 1824 at 55 years old after years of attempting to get a grant, which resulted in Sarah moving to St. Mary`s where she lived until she died in 1855. Peter, Benjamin and Jon have been attempting to determine where in New York they originated. They have located Eliza Ann Booth, John and Sarah`s daughter-in-law, in the Old Brunswick Street Graveyard in Fredericton, although they have not been able to locate when her husband John died and where he was buried.
